Acer, Icono & Sant Josep Obrer join in an inspiring partnership to support students’ professional growth

In 2023, Acer – in collaboration with Icono – inaugurated the Acer Classroom at the Sant Josep Obrer school to provide a learning space for the Intermediate Degree in Microcomputer Systems and Networks. 

Today, this inspiring project continues to serve as a model for training students to confidently face their professional futures. Let’s take a closer look!

The Sant Josep Obrer educational program 

Sant Josep Obrer is an educational center in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. Here a dedicated team of educators works to provide high-quality learning through continuous professional development.

The school serves students from pre-primary to secondary education, following a thoughtful philosophy: rather than trying to mold students into a single standard, they value each individual’s uniqueness, supporting their personal growth and development.

In addition to its core educational offerings, Sant Josep Obrer provides a Vocational Training project, giving students a head start in their careers. Over two courses, students can earn a professional qualification along with the compulsory secondary education diploma. The program offers specialized Administrative Services or Computer Science and Communication training, combining academic study with practical, career-focused modules.

The Acer Classroom is a key component of vocational training

As part of their Vocational Training courses, Sant Josep Obrer has implemented the Acer Classroom in collaboration with Acer and Icono.

As a result, this initiative is designed to enhance students’ learning experience by creating a workspace that mirrors the professional environments they will encounter after their training. In detail, Acer has equipped the classroom with the latest computer technology generation, allowing students to experiment, explore, and get familiar with industry-standard tools.

In September, Sant Josep Obrer launched its second year of the Vocational Training course within the Acer Classroom. This year, the project will include a range of enriching activities, such as workshops led by Acer and Icono managers, a visit to Acer’s facilities in Gavà, Barcelona, and the Icono-Acer Excellence Scholarship, which offers a student the chance to intern at Icono and spend a week at Acer upon completing their studies.
