AppsEvents Suite Tips – Closed Captions in Google Meet
In times of remote and hybrid learning, some of your students may encounter issues understanding what you are saying. This could be due to different reasons, such as multiple languages being spoken at home, poor bandwidth, or lack of fluency in the language you speak. What if we told you that Google Meet has a built-in feature that can become a lifesaver on these occasions?
Automatic Closed Captioning in Google Meet elevates your students’ accessibility and relies on high accuracy, filling the gap when audio or language issues occur.
Open Google Meet, go to the bottom and click on the three dots. Now all you have to do is click on the “Turn on captions” options. Easy, isn’t it? As soon as you turn on this option, Google Meet will automatically take all the words that are spoken and transcribe them in the form of closed captions.
These captions can be read by any attendee who has closed captions turned on, so keep in mind to show your students how to enable this option to make the best out of it.
