Managing Assigned Tasks through Google Drive

When working with fellow teachers or with a class of students, having a quick way to assign tasks can be a lifesaver. If you didn’t know, Google Drive helps you keep organised and stay on top of your to-do list.

First of all, keep in mind you can assign a task to any file uploaded to your Google Drive, from Docs to Sheets, from PDFs to images.

Now, let’s look at how to assign tasks. Just open the file you are interested in. All you have to do is add a comment and tag the email address the person you want to assign the task to. Make sure you’ve checked the “Assign to…” option, and that’s it!

On the flip side, let’s imagine you need a quick way to check out all the tasks that have been assigned to you. To do so, use your Drive’s Search bar, and click on the advanced search slider. At the bottom, you will find a dropbox that says “Follow up“. Change it to “Action items only”, and Drive will show you only the files you need to work on.

Smooth, isn’t it? Those are fantastic ways to keep track of all the action items you need to follow up on and quickly assign tasks to peers or pupils.
